| February | Carnival – El Carnaval. Celebrated in towns and on a larger scale in major cities with big parades and people dressed in a masquerade manner. |

| April 2-8th | Semana Santa – Holy Week. Numerous processions are held in Iznájar and Rute. Iznájar is unique in the representation of The Passion of Christ, also known as El Paso in which over 100 locals take part, visitors come from far to watch this play. |
| April 25th | San Marcos , when family and friends meet in the hills around Iznájar lake and beach to have lunch, sing and play traditional games. |
| May 1st | Día del Trabajo – Labour Day! |
| May 2nd Sunday | In Rute ‘Feria de la Virgen de la Cabeza. Very lively and exciting! |
| May 3rd | Cruces de Mayo. Religious custom to make crosses out of flowers. |
| May 12th | In Rute ‘Procesion del Flores'. Young girls dressed in their traditional Spanish costumes bring flowers to the church. |
| May 13th | Procession ‘Virgen de la Cabeza' in Rute. This procession will pass Casa Margaretha in Calle Cortijuelos! |
| May 27th | Whitsun. Only Sundays' off! |
| June 3rd week | Feria Chica in Iznájar. Originally a live stock fair which now has become a funfair to celebrate the beginning of summer with free paella for everyone. |
| August 11 -15th | Ascension of Holy Mary. ‘Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen', patron of Rute |
| August 24 -28th | Feria Real in Rute. Very lively & exciting feria that will last for three days, large fun fair in the town. |
| September 7-11th | Largest festival of the year in Iznájar in honour of the village patron saint ‘Virgen de la Piedad' (Lady of Piety)! |
| October 12th | Día de la Hispanidad!: The day to remember Columbus discovering America (1492) |
| November 1st | Todos los Santos – All Saints Day |
| December 6th | Día de la Constitución |
| December 8th | Inmaculada Concepción |
| December 25th | Navidad – Christmas. Traditional carols are sung by bands or pandillas on the streets of the little villages. On December 25 th Midnight Mass will be celebrated in cities, villages and towns. |
